I was born in Denmark but have lived in England since i was five years old.  My love of image making developed after studying a degree in Editorial Photography at Brighton university, after which i got a lucky break working as a Stills Photographer on feature films including the highly acclaimed "Dancer in the Dark" directed by Lars Von Trier and starring Bjork.

I was employed to document all the behind the scenes on a film set and this gave me the basis for learning how to capture and document intimate and fleeting moments.

For the past ten years i have been working as a fashion and portrait photographer producing work for both UK and international publications, with clients including L'officiel, marie claire, cosmopolitan, french sole, dove amongst many others, you can see more of my work here www.helenesandberg.com

I also photograph for children's publications including such as Little London magazine, Baby London magazine, The Grace tales and Wardrobe icons as well as taking on private commissions for family portraits and pregnancy shoots.

Photographing families and children was almost like the missing link in all the mayhem of the fashion world, the soul and heart of life. Not only is it a privilege and honour to be allowed to enter each family's worlds but there is an immense joy and satisfaction in providing people with beautiful and meaningful images that will be cherished for years to come.

I always aim to sprinkle my images with a bit of magic and ethereal beauty, photographing with a sensitive and uncomplicated eye and whether it be a fashion story or a family portrait ultimately I 'm passionate about creating images that capture a beautiful mood and feeling.

I believe with my experience as a fashion and reportage photographer and my love of beauty and aesthetics i bring a fresh and stylish eye to the genre of family portraits.
